FCC To Increase Licensing Fees
The FCC has published a regulatory fee increase for Private Land Mobile Radio licenses effective 17 September, 2007. Spectrum Resources will need to reflect the changes in those fees. FCC Revises 700 MHz Rules
In a Second Report & Order adopted 7/31/2007, the Federal Communications Commission revised the 700 MHz band plan and service rules to promote the creation of a nationwide interoperable broadband network for public safety and to facilitate the availability of new and innovative wireless broadband services for consumers.
The FCC adopted an Order that declined to establish a fixed date for PLMR systems to transition to 6.25 kHz technology, but strongly urged licensees to consider migrating directly to 6.25 kHz technology rather than first adopting 12.5 kHz technology.
